Let's have some rice bro! By Simran and Finally Mom

Rice is eaten at every meal in Indonesia. For breakfast, there is coconut rice or sweet sticky rice. For lunch and dinner, there is rice with curries and vegetables. My favorite is cocunut rice and when the food gets spicy, this is sometimes all I eat.

We went to Tegallalang rice terraces near Ubud to learn about how rice is harvested. While they look beautiful, they have real purpose and are necessary for us to have rice. Here is a pic of us in the rice terraces.

We also went on a swing over the rice terraces to the magical land of FUN!

After the rice is done growing, the water is drained from it. Then, it is cut by a special knife. After, the rice is separated from the stock by a machine. So, what you see growing in the rice paddies is the stalk of the rice. It is not actually the rice itself.

We love rice, and it is very important to Indonesia.

Dear Simi,

I learn so much from reading your posts. I maintain that you are a mini Alex Trebek. I am certain you wrote the lionshare 🦁 of this post and your mom looked over and approved 😂. What did you learn about the animals and snails 🐌 in the rice fields? The animal control is so important as well as infection control! You are so right...beautiful and peaceful fields with a purpose! Loved the swing! Make sure mom leaves her shoes outside the hut!!! 😉
