We arrived in Alice Springs and it seemed so big compared to the other outback town. Mom was happy to have heat in the hotel. Dad was happy to have paved roads. Kirin was happy that the hotel had an Indian restaurant (Hanuman- the #1 rated restaurant in Alice Springs- we got to eat Dal! ) and Simi was happy because the #1 rated site in Alice Springs is the Desert Park and it is filled with birds!
But first, we took a quick trip to Stanley Chasm for a hike.

Then we headed to the Desert Park where we saw Emus, Kangaroos (1 had a Joey) and Dingos. But these are all the birds we saw:
Emu
Australian Bustard
Black Kite
Whistling Kite
Southern Boobook
Tawny frogmouth
Barnowl
Peaceful Dove
Spinfex Pigeon
Red-tailed Black Cockatoo
Budgerigar
Princess Parrott
White-headed stilt
Chiming Wedgebill
Inland Thornbill
Southern Whiteface
White-fronted honeyeater
Orange Chat
Black-faced cuckoo-strike
Australian Magpie
Painted Finch
Zebra Finch
Silver Gull
Australian Grebe
Here is a picture of an Australian Bustard.

And us in the Desert Park!
